AGENDA 21 and THE HUNGER GAMES: A PARALLEL?

How many of you are familiar with “The Hunger Games” trilogy? Probably a lot more than are familiar with Agenda 21, am I right? Well, I never read the Hunger Games books, but I recently went to see the first movie in the series and, while I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the direction and storytelling, there was a slight discomfort nagging at me which could very well have been the undercurrents teeming with UN conspiracy. As well, I’m not sure if this took from, or enhanced, my viewing pleasure…but it certainly provided an extra layer of something worth my consideration throughout the film.

There is a parallel that is hard to resist here. And it is a parallel worth writing about if, for no other reason, it will help me identify the connection. For starters, I will briefly summarize Agenda 21, which will certainly do it no justice as there are countless pieces and parts to the “non-binding” International “Agenda” which will strip away the sovereignty of nations the world around…one piece and part at a time.

And, when I’m done with my summary of Agenda 21, I’ll slip into a quick description of the Hunger Games…after which I will offer a video that’ll hopefully make the connection. And, if any of you have read the Hunger Games trilogy or seen the just-released film, I imagine that the parallels drawn will whet your appetite to learn more about what the UN, and our Nation’s leaders are up to. Because that is not the kind of world we want to live in! Or, I suppose, you can turn a blind eye and, since you will long be dead when the final nail is hammered down, you won’t have to feel the slightest bit responsible for one of your descendants fighting for bread among the pigs at the sty.

AGENDA 21: A SUMMARY

What is it? Well, it’s a comprehensive global plan drawn up by the UN’s illuminated ones to take control of land, food, water, cities, and much more through what is called Sustainable Development—a particular subset of the Smart Growth plan. It is the principles of Malthus denaturalized: resource rationing, population control, subversion of natural rights as well as the superseding of any constitution in any existing country, etc…etc…

Agenda 21 is the process of corralling human beings as a “product” like cattle into large urban areas, cramming them into high-rise communities where there is no such thing as private means of transportation. Your bicycles, tricycles, rickshaws, motorcycles, boats, trucks and cars will be a thing of the past…and you will literally live in close proximity of your workplace so that you can be easily shuffled into a workplace predestined for you, to do the kind of humdrum work not manageable by a machine.

There are many tentacles that come with the design, and each tentacle is respectively crafted to further eradicate freedom from ALL human beings in the 178 countries whose governments agreed to “climb aboard” this nefarious ship in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from the 3rd to the 14th of June in 1992.

There is one particular tentacle wielding it’s wigglesome might here in the United States, as it allows the EPA to illegally grab land from local companies and private property owners…per a provision in the Smart Growth plan, which serves to limit where human beings are allowed to live. And, take note, that whenever a city council passes an outrageous law demanding a local business or private property owner to forfeit their land and property to the city, this is Agenda 21 being implemented by degrees and inches.

On account of this burgeoning police state, we are seeing a slow transfer of regulation and power of transportation by means of government seizures under the Department of Transportation…specifically focusing on railroads. Why is this? High speed railroads would empower the illuminated gentries to transport the human chattel quickly from one place to another. It won’t matter if a municipality can or cannot afford a railroad of this type; as is the wont of official lapdogs, the State legislature will push it through regardless of affordability and funded by…care to guess?…Taxpayers.

This is Sustainable Development, folks. THIS is the program requiring an integration of economic, environmental, and social components at all levels. THIS is facilitated by continuous dialogue and action amid global partnership and focuses on key sustainable development issues…such as Sustainable Consumption and Production Patterns, Natural Resource Management, Demographics like Health and Health Settlements, Means of Implementation, and Regional Dimensions like SIDS (Small Island Developing States)…currently being  managed and promoted by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs; Division for Sustainable Development [DSD].

And, well, alluding to the 40 page official UN document drawn up after the 1992 Earth Summit, known officially as the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), here are a few tasty tidbits:

Population reduction (limiting the size of families), mandatory civilian national service for youth, the virtual elimination of private property ownership, government control of fishery and farm harvest, exclusion of humans from “wild areas,” the abolition of single family homes and, dare I suggest, fascistic public-private partnerships.

Now, with regards to the United States, the last few Presidents—from George HW Bush to Barack Obama—have, through Executive Orders, signed onto Agenda 21; however, the brunt of this scheme is being implemented by local governments, behind the driving force of the International Council of Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI). So, it is up to people to research this at the local level if they want to REALLY see it in all its power-grabbing ingloriousness.

One of the bitterest of morsels from Agenda 21 and the Biodiversity Treaty is the fact that there is a plan to set 50% of the United States aside as “wild lands” where no human will be allowed to enter. This may sound crazy, but it is in the works. There are and have been active moves to remove entire valleys of farmers in California, so that dams can be broken and fish can spawn. Many National Parks already have UN Biosphere signs at the entrances.

How does this make you feel?

Safe? Secure?

I guess that those of us who survive the chemtrail cocktails and poison control pharmacies are prone to be herded through the Agenda 21 system to a life without hope or freedom. Well, at least you won’t have to worry about getting the oil changed in your car, right?

THE HUNGER GAMES: A SUMMARY

The story details the adventures of Katniss Everdeen, who is forced to engage in a fight-to-the-death tournament against other children. It takes place in Panem, a dystopian country built on the ruins of what used to be North America. Resources are limited and a despotic government—run by the Capitol—keeps its citizens in line by separating them into Districts, reinforcing severe class separations. To promote disunion and to discourage rebellion, the government holds an annual event known as the Hunger Games—two tributes from each district are pitted against each other for the country to watch on television. It’s kind of a cross between the Truman Show and the Running Man.

Katniss lives in the poorest of districts—District 12—with her mother and younger sister. When her father died, the mother became functionally incapacitated, and the burden fell on the eldest sister to become family provider by hunting illegally in the woods outside the district.

The day arrives when each district must select the two tributes, one male and one female, who will represent them in the Hunger Games. Prim is selected and Katniss quickly jumps in as a volunteer to save her sister’s skin. So it is Katniss and a middle class boy named Peeta who ultimately become the tributes for District 12.

The two kids are taken away and then experience all the glamour of the pre-game festivities. They are given transport to the Capital on a luxurious, high-speed rail with all the finest accommodations; it is a stark contrast from the home they just left. Once at their destination, they are groomed, trained, outfitted, fed well, ran through various lessons on how to display refined social graces; in simple terms, they are treated like royalty until the moment they are deposited into the woods to fight for their lives.

Each “contestant” is interviewed on a nationally televised program, so that an impression can be made and that sponsors will take note. When Peeta confesses during this live interview that he has a crush on Katniss, our teen heroine is rendered fraught because she was handling herself with stoic determination right up until that point. However, she eventually agrees to portray the image of a unified front, at the request of her mentor, Haymitch.

Each of the tributes take their place in pods, which lift them to the forested area encapsuled by a large arena. When they begin, Katniss follows the advice of Haymitch and ignores all the goodies and weapons sprawled out before the tributes, opting to avoid the initial bloodbath and making a run for the hills, whereupon she uses her hunting/survival skills to develop a strategy.  She sleeps in trees and hunts game. Each night, faces of the dead are broadcast into the sky. And, as she stays hidden, she learns that Peeta has allied himself with the “Career Tributes,” those tributes from the richer districts who train their entire lives for the Games.

Meanwhile, the whole world or, at least, all of Panem are glued to their televisions.

Also meanwhile, the Game-makers—the brain trust and techies who design and manipulate the game as it carries out—do their thing to keep it entertaining. After a severe burn following a firestorm perpetrated by the Game-makers, Katniss is trapped in a tree above the Careers. That night, she makes contact with Rue, the youngest tribute, who Katniss associates with Prim. Rue is up a nearby tree and suggests she defeat the Careers by dropping a wasp nest on them. She does so; in the process she gets stung herself but also scatters the Careers amid a swarm and gains for herself a bow, her strongest weapon. The wasp stings produce hallucinations, which slow her down and almost kill her, until Peeta comes to the rescue.

She is understandably confused.

Katniss and Rue form an alliance and make a plan to destroy the supplies that are keeping the Careers powerful. Rue sets fires to distract them while Katniss pieces together that they are protecting their supplies with landmines appropriated from a Game-maker design. When she uses the mines to explode the supplies, she is blown backwards and knocked out of commission. When she regains consciousness, she returns to the rendezvous point just in time to see Rue killed by another tribute, who then quickly becomes Katniss’s first kill.

As a small act of rebellion against the Capitol, which expects the tributes to dehumanize one another, Katniss sings to Rue and decorates her corpse with flowers before the body is fetched by the Capitol.

The Game-makers announce that the rules have changed, and that the two tributes from a district can serve as co-victors. Hearing this, she sets out to find Peeta, which she does, and finds that he has been cut badly as a result of his helping Katniss escape from the Careers. She does her best to help him recover, but it isn’t until Haymitch sends her a gift following a kiss she shares with him that she understands that playing up the romance angle could pay off.

They spend days growing closer in a cave, but Katniss lacks the skill to cure Peeta’s wound. When the Game-makers announce that a “feast” will be held to draw the tributes together for crucial supplies, she tricks Peeta and heads to the feast. In trying to get her gift, which she assumes is anti-infection medicine for Peeta, she is almost killed by a Career, but saved by the other tribute from Rue’s district. Having heard of Katniss’s kindness towards Rue, the tribute lets her live.

The medicine cures Peeta, and they spend more time growing closer in the cave. Once the Game-makers dry up their water supplies, they prepare themselves and head out to face Cato, the only other surviving tribute. But their main challenge turns out not to be Cato, but several wolf-man creatures unleashed by the Game-makers, creatures reanimated from the corpses of dead tributes. Katniss and Peeta escape by climbing to higher ground, while the other tribute falls and is tortured by the creatures. Finally, Katniss kills the tribute with her arrow out of mercy.

They have won the Games, but the Game-makers rescind the rule about dual victors. Peeta and Katniss threaten to commit dual suicide, which would ruin the Games, and they are hence awarded a dual victory.

They are fetched by the Capitol representatives, and separated for a long period of recovery. When they are brought out to the audience again, Haymitch warns Katniss that she needs to overplay the lovers’ angle as a defense for her threat to commit suicide, which the Capitol considers an act of rebellion. Over the period of fanfare that follows, she takes his advice, which makes Peeta, who actually does love her, very happy.

When all is done, they head back to District 12, and Katniss lets slip along the way that her affection was always for the cameras. Though not the entire truth, she is torn between her old identity as a poor hunter, and the more complex one she shaped through the Games. Peeta is heartbroken, but understands they must maintain an image as they prepare to present themselves to their district.

THE CONNECTION

By my summary of each, there is probably very little connection to be made from Agenda 21 to the Hunger Games. One would actually have to get a clearer understanding of each to come to the appreciation. A little more studying up on Agenda 21 and, perhaps, at the very least, attending a showing of the Hunger Games to catch the story with all of its details and nuances would be advised.

The following video comes from Alex Jones, and he draws a comparison. I normally tread lightly when bringing Alex into the mix as he is not one of my go to sources. But, the video makes a pretty interesting case…and I think it is worthy of a view.
